Rachel is a wonderful music teacher that has taught our children for the past 3 years. In this time, Rachel has taken them on a wonderful journey of learning and appreciation of learning the piano. Over these years we saw Rachel having an amazing ability to understand and interact with each of our children so they wanted to learn more and enjoy the piano. In 4 ½ years, Rachel has taken my son from beginner to  5th-grade AMEB piano level.  She has encouraged and instructed him to compose his own ideas into music that has won 2 awards at the ASME Qld Young Composers competition and he has achieved high distinctions in his AMEB theory exams.

My daughter has been learning piano with Rachel for 18 months and she is now preparing for her 1st grade AMEB exam.

Their progress and success are due to Rachel’s enthusiasm and passion for teaching music, her excellent verbal and written feedback and her unique ability to motivate students to practice and step outside their comfort zones to take risks with their learning.

But perhaps most importantly, Rachel takes the time to know and care about her students and their individual goals.  Her quiet, respectful nature allows them to be comfortable making mistakes and taking risks so they can grow as musicians.

I will be forever grateful to Rachel for her key role in fostering a love of self-expression through music for my children.

How does one begin to say thank you, when someone has done so very much for their child. That is the level of gratitude we feel for our daughter’s teacher, Rachel. Rachel’s passion not only for her craft but dedication to the individual learning styles of her students has seen our daughter go from strength to strength with her piano studies. Five years of instruction, through which time not only were four practical and two theory exams completed, but a bond between teacher and student that has fostered a confidence in our daughter to reach for the stars.
